“Before joining ICS I had never used an umbrella scheme before so my biggest concern was that I would have to complete my own tax return which I was certain I would do incorrectly. This concern has been completely been resolved as ICS deal with any tax issues for you and also make sure that you are on the right tax code to pay the best amount possible.

One of the best benefits of being a contractor with ICS is that you can be a contractor but still enjoy benefits that are usually only reserved for people on full time contracts such as a workplace pension and holiday pay.

Other benefits of using ICS include being able to send in your expenses in pretty much any format you can which is invaluable when you’re busy and you don’t have time to send them via a spread sheet. ICS also give you plenty of notice about when and how you are going to be paid so any issues can be resolved before you’re paid. The online DOTS system is also a great help as it means you can change things such as your contact details and payment information at any time day or night.

I would definitely recommend ICS to other contractors for a number of reasons but the main ones are that ICS’s customer service is brilliant and since joining any phone calls I’ve made have been answered within a minute. Their staff are also very knowledgeable about what they’re doing and can explain things in easy to understand terms and make sure your problems are fully resolved before hanging up. They also remind you when you’ve forgotten to do something such as make an expenses claim.
