“My 6th year working on this, but still one of the favourite (and busiest!) parts of my job!”

Jodie Mace, Head of Compliance.

Who are the FCSA what what do they do?

The FCSA are the UK’s leading membership body for umbrella employers, contractor accountants and CIS payroll services. Their aim is to ensure all parties in the supply chain – especially those served by FCSA members – can expect the highest levels of compliance, transparency, and reliability. They rigorously assess FCSA members to ensure they meet their standards, holding their members to the highest standards of compliance in the industry, which drives market reputation and benefits workers.

Founded in 2008 as the Freelancer and Contractor Services Association, they have over 70 member firms who support more than 200,000 contractors.

What do they expect from their members?

  • Adherence to rigorous standards
  • Assessed against a published Code of Compliance
  • Independently assessed
  • Codes designed in consultation with HMRC and independent assessors
  • Prove compliance annually
